London, November 2026 - Tourism Malaysia has strengthened relationships with travel partners across the UK through a two-city regional roadshow in Manchester and London, building momentum for Visit Malaysia Year 2026–2027.

Tourism Malaysia Roadshow
The programme brought Malaysian suppliers together with travel agents, homeworkers, retail agency groups, product managers and tour operators for targeted meetings, destination updates and networking. The supplier delegation included regional tourism bodies, including Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) and Sabah Tourism Board, alongside hotels, attractions and destination management companies (DMCs). Together, they created opportunities to develop new itineraries, enhance product knowledge and explore future marketing activity.

The roadshow opened at Treehouse Manchester on 28 October, welcoming 18 Malaysian suppliers and 28 guest buyers from across Manchester and surrounding Northern territories. The event underlined the importance of engaging directly with travel professionals across the regions, giving Northern partners the opportunity to meet Malaysian suppliers and discuss how they can further develop and sell the destination.
The programme continued at the Columbia Hotel in London on 30 October, where 21 Malaysian suppliers met with 57 travel trade attendees, including product managers and tour operators. The London event opened with a welcome address from His Excellency Dato’ Indera Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to the UK.

The event also featured a seminar on Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H), Malaysia’s long-stay programme for eligible international participants seeking to make the country a second-home base. Further sessions from Sabah Tourism Board and Langkawi Development Authority gave attendees additional insight into regional experiences, product developments and opportunities for their customers.

Across both cities, delegates explored Malaysia’s breadth of experiences, from vibrant cities, heritage and world-class cuisine to rainforest adventures, wildlife, islands and beaches. Discussions focused on the opportunity to translate this diversity into bookable itineraries, agent training, co-operative campaigns and new trade partnerships ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026–2027.
Sulaiman Suip, Director of Tourism Malaysia UK & Ireland, said:
“Our regional roadshow in Manchester and London gave us the opportunity to engage directly with a broad cross-section of the UK travel trade and reinforce the importance of our partnerships across the country.
“As we build momentum towards Visit Malaysia Year 2026–2027, it is vital that agents, tour operators and product teams have the knowledge, relationships and commercial opportunities needed to confidently sell Malaysia. The positive response across both cities reflects the strength of interest in our destination and the value of working closely with the trade to turn that interest into bookings.”
Tourism Malaysia will continue to work with partners across the UK in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia Year 2026–2027, supporting new product development, training and promotional activity to showcase Malaysia as a destination where visitors can enjoy multiple experiences in one journey.
