Three ONYX properties recognised at the Ultimate Thailand Green Tourism Showcase 2026 as the Group continues to embed sustainability into operations, guest experiences and long-term business growth
London, October 2026 – ONYX Hospitality Group, a leading hospitality management company in the Asia-Pacific region specialising in hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and luxury residences, has strengthened its sustainability credentials with three properties recognised at the Ultimate Thailand Green Tourism Showcase 2026 awards, presented by Thailand’s Department of Tourism.`
Amari Pattaya and OZO North Pattaya received awards in the Creativity & Innovation category, while Amari Bangsaen was recognised in the Unique WOW Experience category.

The three awards reflect ONYX Hospitality Group’s continued commitment to translating sustainability principles into meaningful, locally relevant actions across its portfolio, demonstrating how responsible practices can become an integral part of both hotel operations and the guest experience.
The recognised properties demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainability management, encompassing areas including energy and water efficiency, waste management, carbon reduction, community and stakeholder engagement and recognised environmental standards. Importantly, the approach increasingly focuses not only on individual sustainability initiatives, but on measurable results and the long-term value created for guests, communities and destinations.
The achievements form part of ONYX for Planet, the Group’s sustainability framework, which integrates environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles across its business operations and hotel management.
Guided by its Sustainably Crafted Hospitality philosophy, ONYX believes sustainability should not operate as a separate programme or remain solely behind the scenes. Instead, it is increasingly embedded in how the Group operates, makes decisions, manages resources and creates experiences across its portfolio.
This approach encompasses responsible resource management and procurement, support for local communities and producers, talent development and the creation of guest experiences that connect travellers more meaningfully with the destinations they visit.
Sukamal Mondal, VP – Operations and Sustainability & Community Engagement at ONYX Hospitality Group, said:
“For us, the real value of sustainability comes when our principles are translated into meaningful and locally relevant actions at each destination. Every hotel operates within a different community and environment, so our approach needs to respond to that context while remaining aligned with our wider ONYX for Planet commitments.
“These three Green Tourism Awards are an important recognition of the work our teams are doing to make sustainability part of everyday decision-making and the guest experience. They demonstrate that responsible hospitality can create value not only for our business and our guests, but also for the communities, destinations and environments in which we operate.
“As our sustainability journey continues to mature, our focus is increasingly moving beyond individual initiatives towards demonstrating impact – understanding what has changed, what value has been created and, wherever possible, measuring that progress. This will help us strengthen transparency and accountability as we continue to grow.”
Beyond its work at individual properties, ONYX Hospitality Group continues to strengthen sustainability standards, measurement and operational efficiency across the wider organisation.
ONYX has achieved GSTC Hotel Multi-site Certification, demonstrating its alignment with internationally recognised standards for sustainable tourism. The certification was issued by Control Union Singapore Pte. Ltd., a GSTC-accredited Certification Body.
The Group has also partnered with CarbonWize to develop its ESG data management system and greenhouse gas emissions monitoring framework, supporting a greater focus on measurement, transparency and accountability.
Further demonstrating this approach in practice, ONYX has entered into a partnership with SP Group to explore energy-efficiency and renewable-energy solutions across suitable properties in Thailand. At Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel, SP Group’s Cooling-as-a-Service solution, operational since April 2026, is expected to reduce energy consumption by more than 40%, saving approximately 900,000 kWh of electricity and reducing carbon emissions by around 449 tonnes annually.
Together, these developments demonstrate how ONYX for Planet is evolving from individual sustainability initiatives towards an increasingly integrated approach combining internationally recognised standards, measurable environmental performance, responsible operations and locally relevant action.
As ONYX Hospitality Group continues to expand across the Asia-Pacific region, sustainability remains an integral part of its long-term business strategy. Through ONYX for Planet and its Sustainably Crafted Hospitality philosophy, the Group aims to ensure that growth is accompanied by responsible operations, stronger measurement and meaningful value for its guests, people, communities, destinations and the planet.
